Please see below for information on training dates, locations and application process.

All you need to know

You can apply for one or both of the following training sessions.

  • Basic Rescue and Transport training, where you will learn how to assess, capture, contain and transport small native animals, how to perform pouch checks, and how to keep yourself and wildlife safe during rescues and transport.
  • Macropod Response Fundamentals training, where you will learn how to assess kangaroo and wallabies for signs of injury or illness, manage situations as a first responder, and work with other people to intervene where required.

Wildlife rescue is a tough but rewarding role. Before expressing an interest in attending training, you must attend a mandatory information session to help you decide if it’s a good fit and whether you’d like to apply.
