Vote 1 for Wildlife

Ahead of the November state election, Wildlife Victoria is calling on wildlife advocates and supporters to Vote 1 for Wildlife.

Our state government plays a key role in policies and legislation that impacts wildlife and the environment. While we will continue to advocate for changes to practices, laws, and regulations that negatively impact native animals, the outcome of our work is dependent on elected officials and party policy.

How you vote this November is one of the most powerful ways you can show your support for wildlife.

What can I do?

  • Check your enrolment details by Tuesday 3 November
  • Talk to your family and friends about the issues that concern you
  • Contact your local MP and candidates about where they stand on issues that matter to you – your MP represents you so make sure they know what you stand for
  • Download our I Vote for Wildlife social media tile and upload it as your profile picture or share it on social media
  • Search Wildlife Victoria on your social media platform of choice and share our stories with followers

Join us in calling for:

  • An end to native duck hunting
  • A stronger Wildlife Act
  • An end to commercial kangaroo harvesting
  • Action on climate change
  • Mandatory reporting for wildlife roadstrikes
  • Consideration of wildlife and habitat for urban development
