Oscar Formoso

Head of Emergency Response Service
BA, BSc (Zoology and Ecology)

Oscar has been employed with Wildlife Victoria for some time, commencing as an Emergency Response Operator then progressing through to an Emergency Response Service Supervisor.  After a tenure in the Emergency Response Service Oscar then transitioned into a management role at Wildlife Victoria, reporting to the CEO, where Oscar had accountability for Wildlife Victoria’s systems landscape and third party technology supplier relationships, as well as technology change and incident management. 

Skilled in workforce planning, supply and demand management, operational risk management and performance management and setting and monitoring KPIs, Oscar has a deep understanding of Wildlife Victoria’s Emergency Response Service and is skilled at complex case management and navigating through change, challenge and high uncertainty. 

Oscar holds a Bachelor of Arts (Philosophy and Literature) and Bachelor of Science (Zoology and Ecology with First Class Honours), and has a passion for wildlife, evidenced not just through his on the job focus on wildlife welfare, but also through substantive wildlife volunteering including fieldwork spanning helmeted honeyeaters, platypus ecology and marine mammals and outside work as a Wildlife Victoria volunteer rescuer.
