Thank you for your interest in training with Wildlife Victoria
Before you register for training, here's some information to help you choose the volunteering role that's the best fit.
Transport volunteers: Transporters move injured, sick, or orphaned wildlife between vet clinics and licenced wildlife carers. It requires minimal handling of animals as the wildlife are usually already contained and ready for transport.
This is a great role for anyone who wants to help our wildlife with a less hands-on approach, and many find it a good introduction to wildlife before becoming a rescuer.
Rescue & Transport volunteers: Rescuers attend to injured, sick, or orphaned native animals. They assess the situation and then (if needed) capture, contain, and transport the animal to a vet. To be a rescuer you will need to be comfortable handling wild animals and liaising with members of the public.
Please note, online transport training is currently unavailable, and will re-open on September 18.
