Support our work with a donation

Wildlife Victoria is a non-profit charity that has operated the state's wildlife emergency response service since 1989.

Our Emergency Response Service answers calls from members of the public reporting sick, injured or orphaned native wildlife 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

In 2023, we received over 130,000 calls for assistance, a 24% increase in demand compared to the year prior, and responded to nearly 90,000 native animals in need.

With less than 7% of our annual operating costs funded by the state government, and no commitment for funding beyond 2025, your support is now more crucial than ever before.

Your generous donations keep our 24/7 Emergency Response Service operational, help recruit and train volunteers statewide, and maintain our Travelling Veterinary Service. Most importantly, they provide a lifeline to sick, injured, and orphaned wildlife across Victoria.

Every donation makes a difference.

$38

can cover the cost of an Emergency Response Service Operator to give over the phone advice to a caller that reports a sick, injured or orphaned native animal. That's one more precious animal helped!

$65

allows our Emergency Response Service to deploy a trained vounteer to conduct a rescue of a native animal in need of help.

$150

can pay for the veterinary triage of an injured native animal. Triage includes physical examination, assessment of vital signs, and prognosis.

Larger donations allow Wildlife Victoria to invest significantly in the Emergency Response Service infrastructure, allowing us to be ready for future increases in demand.

Explore the map to see a sample of the animals that needed our help in your local area last month. Each point on this map relates to a single animal, or family of animals, reported to Wildlife Victoria last month.

We get so many calls that not all our cases fit on the map, accordingly, this map is not an exact reflection of all our cases from the month. This map should only be used as an indicative sample.
